Often times when responding to a hospital, there are different response locations based on the asset type. A great example of this would be a fixed wing (airplane), which would need to land at an airport. Or a rotor wing (helicopter) landing on a helipad that is not at the hospital.
This is what we use the pick up/drop off locations for in hospitals.
Instructions
Go to Settings → Hospitals and pick the hospital you need to add a pickup or drop off location for, then open the hospital.
1. In the ‘Pick Up/Drop Off Locations’ there is a green plus sign in the bottom right corner, click on this.
2. When you click that green plus button, you will see the below screen. Note that it defaults to ‘Place’ for the location, most times you will want to change this to ‘Airport’. This is because inside airports you can have airports and heliports. Most helipads or airports fall into this category.
3. After you select the location and click the ‘OK’ button you will see the below screen:
a. From here you will want to select the appropriate boxes. If this airport is the default for when a fixed wing transport occurs at this hospital, then select that accordingly.
** Note** that this will make it so that when you assign a fixed wing to a request with this hospital, that the pick up or drop off location will default to the airport you have put in. This is the same for any other default you select. When the associated asset type is assigned the pick up or drop off locations will change accordingly. **
