This function allows the administrator to create and edit pager groups. These are groups of crew members who will receive pages at the same time. A pager group could, for example, include the pilots, medical teams, and mechanics for a given asset or base so that any information concerning that asset or base could be relayed to all of them at once. Pager groups can be based on individuals or by crew characteristics.
The following editing options are available:
To create a new group, click the green plus button on the top on the window; to edit a group, select the group from the list and either double-click or select the blue I button.
Each group will contain whichever crew members are checked in the left column and whichever numbers are included in the right column, Other Contacts. Crew members, the left column, are added or deleted using the Utilities > Update Crew menu function. The numbers in the right column, Other Contacts are added by clicking the plus button.
Clicking the plus button for Other Contacts will bring up the window shown below. To edit a number, highlight the entry and select Edit, which will also bring up the window shown below.
The new pager information entered can be identified by an alias or not, depending on the administrator's preference. Information can be entered for either a pager, using the pager number and provider fields, or for an email/texting address using the pager email field. When pager entries are viewed, they can either be shown using the pager number/address (as in the groups window shown above), or using the alias entered for each pager. To view aliases, check the Show By Alias Name in the main pager groups window.
Crew Characteristics
pager groups are more general and will send a page out to all specified crew types and/or duty status of crew members as opposed to specified individuals. For example, if Off Duty and Can Act as Pilot are selected when a page goes out to that pager group it will be paged to all Off Duty Pilots.
