FVCAD has the ability for users to associate KML files with ‘Response Zones’. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to set these up.
Instructions
- Go to Settings → Response Zones, then click on the green + to add a new ‘Response Zone’. Note your zones can be named whatever is appropriate for your organization. You will see in the image below that this CAD was setup with ‘Response Zones’ based on states. After you click to add a new zone, you will need to give it a name.
- After you name your new zone, you will see the below screen, you will want to click ‘Add’ unless you are editing an existing zone, then click ‘Edit’.
After you click on 'Add', you will see the below screen where you will click on 'Browse' and navigate to the KML you want to add
4. After you add the file, you will click ‘OK’. Then you will get to edit the name of the file if you wish, then you will be shown the color selector screen to choose the color you would like to associate with you ‘Response Zone’
5. After you finish adding a new zone, you can double click on the zone to edit each part of the zone as shown below.
6. Response zones may be displayed on FVMap as their own layer, with each zone as an option to toggle on/off. From the map, go to Options>Response Zones. NOTE: If the map is zoomed out too far, response zones may not show, zooming in on the map will better display the response zone shape.
7. Users may search closest from map and specify within response zone. To do this, right click on the route line on the map, and click "Search for closest asset to pickup"
8. Clicking Submit will allow the user to assign the asset from the map after searching closest
- NOTE: Hovering over assets in the list will display information similar to the CAD search closest, including whether or not the asset can respond to the response zone of the pickup location:
9. In the CAD, the Asset view may be grouped by response zone using the asset right-click menu:
10. User can setup response zones in Callsigns/Pager assignments setting OR from the asset right-click menu:
NOTE: Multiple response zones may be selected for each call sign.
The search closest will indicate if the asset is available for that response zone or not. (If the pick up location of the request is in the response zone, the search closest will indicate if the asset is available for that response zone, as seen here)
- NOTE: Hovering over assets in the list will display information similar to the CAD search closest, including whether or not the asset can respond to the response zone of the pickup location:
