Command Prompts were released in CAD version 6.9.1.1
The new Command Prompt is a tool you can apply to your CAD layouts that reduces mouse interaction in the CAD. Command Prompts are a well known tool in the public safety communication industry and are designed to help the Communication Center End-Users in a fast paced environment.
How do you apply the Command Prompts to your layout?
As with any change to your layout, you want to select view in the top tool bar, hover over New Window, and select the layout you wish to add the Command Prompt to.
You can apply the Command Prompt to any layout by using your control right click option while hovering over your layout. Once you press and hold control, right click on the mouse, then select where you would like to place the Command Prompt (Add above, add below, Add left, Add right, tab, etc.). Once you have added this to your layout, make sure you control, right click, and save layout.
How do I use the Command Prompts?
On the Command Prompt box, there is a key that will explain each abbreviation and action available to the end users.
If your call signs include spaces, you shouldn't include that space when entering the call sign in the Command Prompt. For example, if your assets call sign is “Rotor 2”, you should type rotor2. In addition, you wont need to worry about case sensitivity. If you have any symbols in the call sign name, you will need to include the symbols with no spacing.
Format
The formatting will consist of the entire call sign with no spaces, a space at the end of the call sign, and the command prompt abbreviation.
For example, “rotor2 d” This is the command format to depart Rotor 2. Once you have completed the call sign and command, you can either press enter on the keyboard or click on “Execute”.
If you had any errors in the formatting, the Command Prompt will display “Command failed”.
If the formatting is correct, successful command feedback will be provided in the log.
