We have updated the shift change from a clock to text boxes. This will make setting up shifts much easier. Please see below for step-by-step instructions.
Instructions
- Shift change is allowed Inside an asset or a base. When you access you will now see the below screen instead of the round clocks.
2. Things to remember:
a. Shifts must be at least 30 minutes in duration.
b. 24-hour shifts are allowed, but no more than 24 hours. If there is a shift that is longer, create a new shift by clicking on the green plus button.
c. There is a (P) behind a crew member's name to denote that they are pending on another asset.
d. When a pilot crew change or a medical crew change happens, a crew change of the same type on that asset is prevented from happening for the next twenty minutes. So if you assigned somebody to an asset and then set up a pending crew to replace them in less than twenty minutes, then the crew change would not happen.
e. Asset’s must be at the base in order for shift change to happen. If an asset is on a trip or at a post a shift change will not occur.
3. Terms and behaviors defined:
a. SHIFT CHANGE: This happens when the end and start time are within one minute of each other. This retains the old behavior of shift changes where the current crew is kicked off and replaced by the pending crew.
i. If there is no pending crew, then the current crew is not replaced.
ii. Having an overlap will add the new crew when they are supposed to then the old crew will stay on for the 30 overlap and then auto removed.
iii. If you update shift change times and the new start time is within 30 minutes, the automatic pending crew change will not trigger for the shift immediately following the update.
b. SHIFT START: The pending crew is placed onto the current crew. Current crew is not kicked off, unless it is the end of their shift or it has been at least 30 minutes since the shift time was added.
c. SHIFT END: The current crew is kicked off. They are kicked off even if there is no pending crew.
