Turndowns are used to record when an asset is not able to complete a request. The information captured may include asset, call sign, reason, notes, and time.
Some of these options are new in 6.9.0.0, if you don’t see the options you are looking for, check your version.
Instructions
You can add turndowns from several areas from the request. If you have the intake screen enabled, you can add the turndown section (Settings -> Call Intake Fields -> Select Appropriate Call type -> Weather Turndowns) to the Intake Screen.
From the intake screen you can also add turndowns from the Action button and select Add Asset Reason for Cancel
You can double click on a request and select the turndown button.
Once you select the ‘Yes’ button the turndown tab will appear, and you can add the asset reason for cancel.
You can also find turndowns using right click on the request menu
If the request is closed, you can still add a turndown! Edit -> Requests -> Turndown Tab
If you are removing the asset (right click -> Remove Assigned Asset) the asset will automatically go into Turndowns.
Instructions Specific to the setting ‘Force turndowns for assets belonging to "closer bases
With the setting ‘Force turndowns for assets belonging to closer bases’ enabled, if an asset from the closest base was not selected, the user will be prompted that there are closer bases with available assets. The prompt will include a list by proximity of the base/asset combo. The user may either Cancel or Continue. If they continue, the turndown entry screen will automatically pop-up, requiring manual entry of a turndown for each active asset without a pre-existing turndown entry belonging to a base closer than the selected one.
- Turn on Settings → ‘Force turndowns for assets belonging to closer bases’
- When the setting is turned on, you will get a pop-up on assignment that there are closer bases with available assets ordered by proximity.
a. Selecting ‘No’, ‘Cancel’, or the X will return the user to the asset selection screen to select a different asset.
b. Selecting ‘Yes’, will continue with the assignment, first requiring turndowns to be entered
for each closer asset. If a turndown was already added to the request during intake or an asset is marked as out of service, the system will automatically capture those reasons.
